I have known Sheriff Andrew (Andy) Godzicki since he first started at the Boone County Sheriff's Office in 2003 as a Reserve Deputy and transport officer. Andy has worked as a road deputy, working all shifts and has worked in the jail and is very familiar with the Civil Division of the Sheriff's Office. At the time of his appointment by the Boone County Supervisors as Sheriff to complete the term of retiring Sheriff Gregg Elsberry, Andy has been a Detective for the past 13 years specializing in Sex Abuse crimes. Andy has been instrumental in updating all of our security cameras for the Sheriff's Office, including the Boone County Jail. He also designed and installed the current security cameras for the Boone County Court House. Andy also designed and installed the current 911 Dispatch Center equipment. Andy was one of the first civilians to be sponsored by a law enforcement agency to the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA). Andy was sponsored by the Boone County Sheriff's Office, though he had to finance his own way to the ILEA. Andy is a person of high integrity and morals, and I wholly support him in his candidacy for Boone County Sheriff.
